Biodiversity

Nature needs a motley crew of different species to flourish. But the way humans get their food these days is wrecking biodiversity.

Forests make way for monocultures to feed the ever-increasing number of livestock, intensive livestock farming over-fertilizes the soil causing even more biodiversity loss: there goes the neighborhood.

Living among few species is not only boring. It’s dangerous. And it got to the point where nature in The Netherlands has the worst condition of the whole continent.

Lickin’ says: let’s bring this party back to life. By milking sunflowers instead of cows, we choose to make ice cream without the greenhouse gasses, without the over-fertilization of soil and water, and without cutting down trees. Instead, we’re freeing up a whole lotta land for nature to run amok. Just as it should be.
